The Argyle Wedding
Hamiltons

31 August 2010

When we arrived, I thought to myself whether it was foolish returning to a place where we had been 2 years prior and expecting the same - the BEST family time we had ever spent together! And this time had to be better, because we were celebrating our first family wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, it certainly turned out to be just that, AND MORE!

It was AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE! We have NEVER met staff as friendly and hospitable. Harold and his team made our stay SO MEMORABLE! We had personal contact with all the staff at the lodge, including the chefs and the rangers. They have an exceptional way of dealing with people - so capable, efficient, warm, friendly and always smiling. THEY GO MORE THAN THE EXTRA MILE! We were truly blessed to be around such wonderful and incredibly warm people. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. Everything was so personal. It is an exceptionally well run camp of world class standard. All credit must go to Natalie, Harold, Ben and ALL the staff!!! Without them, Hamiltons would not be the incredible experience it is! The main reason I would return to Hamiltons again, would be because of the staff. I think they should be HIGHLY COMMENDED!

The food was excellent - the chefs were so proud of their food. The tables always looked magnificent - beautifully decorated with leaves and each time arranged in a different pattern. The glassware, cutlery and crockery were so smart.

The décor and furniture were of the highest quality. Whoever did the original décor has magnificent taste and coordinated everything so well. The linen on the bed and the towels were always spotless.

Natalie, thank you for attending to the wedding requests, you arranged everything beautifully - the flowers were exquisite. Thank you for the time and trouble you took in arranging them. Thank you, Harold, for being on tap the morning of the wedding and for all the attention you offered to the bride. We didn't have to worry about a thing, Natalie and Harold had everything under control.

Our game rangers, Nicholas and Micah, had incredible people skills. Their knowledge of the bush was EXCEPTIONAL and they had a wonderful way of imparting this to us. We also enjoyed their witty humour! THEY WERE GREAT!

Our stay at Hamiltons will be an EVERLASTING memory for all of us! It is an experience we will cherish forever!

Please pass this letter onto ALL THE STAFF at Hamiltons, including the rangers.

Many thanks again!

The wedding was absolutely beautiful...  The flowers were gorgeous, the decorations around the camp, the food - everything was perfect. We would not have changed a thing. Thanks to you, Harold and the staff at Hamiltons for making our stay unforgettable.

Thanks for everything.

My husband and I spent a long weekend a week ago at Hamiltons, and we have to share the following:

We have visited several lodges of similar calibre in the past, but we have yet to experience the level of service excellence and quality of all your staff that we had the privilege of enjoying.

We have to compliment specifically Sidwell, one of the chefs.  We are lovers of good food, but he blew us away with his presentation and flavour of all his dishes. I trust you are taking good care of him, because should I be looking for a first class chef, I would be tempted to make him an offer he couldn't refuse.  He is brilliant.  Also Nicolas the game driver, the best with regards to how he treats his clients and his incredible knowledge of nature in general.

Ben is also to be complimented.  We think he is a very very good, reliable and dedicated manager.

We will most certainly be back as soon as possible.

In May of this Year I had the opportunity to spend 3 nights at HOYO HOYO TSONGA LODGE. As I work for knecht reisen ag in the IT-Department we could
profit from very good conditions. HOYO HOYO TSONGA LODGE is run excellent, staff are very friendly und the food was superb. The accommodation is of very high standard. We my son Patrick and I had a beautiful time and in 24 hours we have seen all of the BIG FIVE.

We also made a side inspection off the IMBALI SAFARI LODGE and HAMILTONS TENTED CAMP we have recommended this Properties to the PM of our AFRICA Department.

I wish to thank for the opportunity to visit this 3 Lodges and hopefully we can send many tourists out of Switzerland.

Kind regards

I have to say that we had a great time at Hamilton's and Hoyo Hoyo and I would definitely recommend them both to everyone. Of course that is what I will do anyway when the article will be published.

About the game drives and the leopards, here's some more specific and certainly interesting info on that. The two drives where we saw altogether five leopards were actually carried out from Hoyo Hoyo, not from Hamilton's. I do believe however that the sightings of the first three leopards (all at night, within 15 minutes) were close to Hamilton's. The next morning we went out and saw two more leopards, a younger one in a tree and the mother on the road and in the bushes. Those are the ones on the pictures. These sightings were on a loop with a baobab tree connected to a tarred road in the Kruger Park, not on the concession. Also interesting is the fact that on the same night drive as the first three leopards we also saw an African wildcat, a serval and a caracal (and honeybadgers, hyena's, baby rhino and baby elephant). Quite special. But since the night before, driving out from Hamilton's, we saw a lion, and the following morning, cheetahs, I think within 24 hours we saw every African cat species living in the area.
